After the suggestions had been filtered through (what few there were)
the top 3 contenders were:
1) Sam Finch (Just sam, not samual)
2) Felix the Finch (delicious irony perhaps?)
3) Fabio Finch (ze most beautivul finch in ze kosmos!)
The new finch's name is...
Sam!
Chosen for the pure gruffness of the name and the alludations (<- Phwoar! New word! ka-ching!) to that famous misquote, "Play it again Sam"
I give you now, Sam (the) Finch.

Name the new bird
Alright readers,
There's a new birdie in the house,
Why don't you all give me some suggestions?
There's a new birdie in the house,
Why don't you all give me some suggestions?
Bye bye Birdie
It was a distressing sight to behold.
A lone bird fluffed up and asleep, suddenly wakes up and looks around.
It hops around looking for its departed companion, chirping worriedly and fluttering around the cage looking for it.
You won't find him girl.
John's gone afly'in.
~
Reading the websites, it seems that birdies can die of heart ache and the sudden shock of a lack of companionship.
Not wanting another dead pet, I rushed to the pet shop to get the lone bird a new companion.
And now, there's a new birdie in the cage, one that hasn't grown up living near the sub woofer, or enjoy all the same shows that the rest of us in this house watch.
We'll see how he reacts to this week's action film...

RIP John Finch
There were frantic chrips of help when I walked through the door.
And there laying on the floor, was John Finch, still as a stone.
There was plenty of water, food and the fan was on to help cool the room down.
I guess it was just too much.
poor lil fella.
We'll miss u...
